It is truly sad how many people are seeking to get information from AI nowadays. Sometimes people come to me and say that they asked an AI thingy something and they were curious whether the answer is right. Occasionally it is (yes, I believe it does happen), but there are times when it is actually off the mark (usually with a fine point of Catholic theology). I personally will not use AI (willfully and intentionally) for anything that matters more than the time of day. I do not trust it; at all.
This is not to say that you cannot get anything from an AI thing-a-ma-jig, but that we need to have much more caution with it. It is one thing to seek technical facts from a computer program; but when people seek advice for their lives, then I think the biggest mistake is believing that AI is a neutral source of information. It was programmed by someone who has a world-view that is not necessarily Catholic. If you would not ask a pagan for life advice, why would you ask a program designed by a pagan?
As a priest, I usually give advice directly out of the Catechism or the Scriptures. The best sections of the Scriptures for life advice are the Psalms, Proverbs, Sirach, and Wisdom of Solomon. You want to talk about a wealth of helpful truth! Virtually every single situation that we can go through in life is spoken to in those books in one way or another. So, if you are willing to use AI stuff, then just please realize it is not neutral. But, if you would like the wisdom of God Almighty, then take a look at what He said first.
