Pope Francis (apparently) wants priests to bless those in immoral relationships. As a priest, I am called to do my best to be obedient to the Pope, always maintaining faithfulness to Catholic dogma . Having had some time to think about the best way to bless an (apparently) impenitent sodomite couple, I have to ask first how much I care for their souls. If I bless their sin (something that the Church forbids a priest to try to do), I am pushing them toward Hell and I become complicit in their sin. Therefore, I would want to try to give them the most grace that they could receive in their current state: Couple: Father, we want a blessing. Me: Then repent and go to Confession; the absolution is the greatest blessing I can give you.
