Have you ever tried to do something special and found yourself hindered at every step? Sometimes those experiences can make us get discouraged. That is not, however, why God allows them to happen. When our Blessed Lord brings challenges into our experiences, it is because He is asking us whether we will keep trying even when there is resistance. Now, take it one step further. Whenever someone tries to do something great for God, there will be challenges (usually for the same reasons as above). It can be a great deed like pursuing the priesthood, or even an individual task like increasing your faith; challenges will come. Yet, those great acts for God are also a threat to the devil. Therefore, the Lord also allows the devil to come against one who seeks great things for Him (although the devil tries to use it for evil, God brings about good--cf. Genesis 50:20). Hence, I have some bad news for you. God wants you to try to do great things. He wants you to be a part of Him changing the world. He wants you to participate in the growth of His Kingdom. Yet, that means that if you obey Him you are going to be attacked. The devil will try to stop you. God Himself will allow various challenges to come in your path. What will you do when that happens? When the devil tries to seduce you with whatever is your greatest temptation, will you give in to him? When it looks like you will fail at your task, will you just throw in the towel and give up, or will you dig your feet in and try harder? Whatever that challenge is, how will you respond? If you see the whole thing as God's test you can work hard to pass it. Do not let the devil trip you up. Do not listen to his lies. By God's grace you are able to endure and stay on the path to eternal salvation. So, yes, that was some bad news; but the good news is much more powerful!
